African Unity Festival, music and danse to foretell an upcoming big event

The African Unity Festival was held on Saturday October 19, 2024, at the African Center.

The event that was organized by The African Unity Parade, Inc., in collaboration with The New York City African Council and The African Center, has brought several people together to celebrate what Manuel Castro the commissioner of the mayor’s office of immigrant affairs, has called “the celebration of culture, heritage, and ancestor of Africa.”

The first edition of the African Unity festival foreshadowed a big event that will take place next year, which is the African Unity Parade and Festival.

The Saturday event was about music and danse as several artist musicians from various African nations have performed for the bliss of music and danse lovers who enjoyed it.

“Today event is a celebration of Africa. It brings joy and happiness,” the consul general of the kingdom of Morocco Abdel Kader Jamoussi said.

“I think it is great thing to share the culture and showcase the culture,” The New York state senator Cordell Cleare said.

Ahmed Kargbo the president of the organizing committee has thanked everyone and gave rendezvous for 2025 for the grand African Unity Parade and Festival. “Please join us for the parade next year,” he said. “We are looking forward to seeing you and we are looking forward for your partnership.”
